{actual size} is a grass roots humanitarian group whose aim is to bring awareness to the actual size of global issues affecting the children of our world today.

The objective is to raise funds to help educate, support and purchase essential life necessities for children who are directly affected from natural disasters, war and other global tragedies.

The story started from one man's heart song. Suhail, an architect from Chicago, set out on a mission to make a difference after he read the inspiring book "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson.

With a few thousand dollars in donations from family members he carved a path that would change his life and the lives of others forever. He took the funds directly to Kashmir and worked with other volunteers helping in the damaged communities, at local medical facilities and schools affected by the devastating earthquake of October 8th, 2005.

On is return to Chicago his story drew a group of young creative and passionate people in the arts and design community that shared Suhail's goals and set out to launch {actual size}.

One huge leap of love and one man's journey has inspired this group to want to make a change in a different kind of way.

By organizing benefits and raising funds, group members and volunteers will then travel into the affected regions of the world and use the proceeds to help directly in the field, improving and rebuilding schools, providing educational supplies and materials, establishing scholarship funds and help heal the communities with direct interaction.

This experience will be visually documented and brought back home to share with those who supported the cause and in turn further benefits will be organized to raise funds for other children's causes around the world.

Most People go about their lives without truly understanding the actual size of daily tragedies happening all around the world and the impact these tragedies have on human lives; especially the ones of innocent children.

Giving and helping those in need changes you, it breathes a light into your heart that can be seen and felt by those who need it most but it can also inspire others around you to act too.

One person can make a difference; but many people can change the world we live in.
